剣を持つメイジ — Blade of Silverlaine をメイジ専用剣 Coldflame Saber に

Shadowfang Keep の Baron Silverlaine が落とす Blade of Silverlaine に、メイジだけが手に入れる Scroll of the Saber を使うと Coldflame Saber ができます（Imbue Blade）。凍結した敵を剣で殴ると火炎ダメージが上乗せされる、近接メイジ向けの武器です。

手に入れ方

• Stormwind・Undercity の図書館に本を納めると、メイジは新スキル Comprehension と呪文 Study を覚えます。
• 図書館で Study を使うと Light Feather 1個で Bundle of Scrolls。クールダウン1時間。
• 未翻訳のスクロールを Comprehend Scroll で解読すると、いろいろな呪文スクロールが出ます。Scroll of the Saber はその一つで出にくく、119枚解読してやっと出たという報告もあります。
• Shadowfang Keep で Blade of Silverlaine（レベル21）を手に入れ、スクロールを使えば完成です。

なぜ注目か

Frost Nova や Frostbite で凍らせた敵を殴るたびに火炎 98。レベル21の剣としては大きい数字で、呪文力 +32 もあるので呪文でも無駄になりません。Fingers of Frost（「次の呪文」を凍結扱い）が近接攻撃にも効くかはまだ分かりません。メイジの特性で冷気の組み合わせを確認できます。

本はどの職業も

本を10冊納める Friend of the Library で首（Scholarly Pendant / Erudite's Amulet）、20冊の Greater Friend of the Library で指輪（Field Researcher's Loop / Philanthropist's Ring）を選べます。ベータでは再ログインすると Comprehension が消える不具合が報告されています。
