LEGACY POINTS
How Legacy works
- Legacy opens the moment you earn your first Legacy Point — usually when your first character reaches level 25, but also by reaching 150 in a non-gathering primary tradeskill or exploring the entire world map. The Legacy window (hotkey Y) has three tabs: Legacy Challenges, Legacy Trees and the Progress Track.
- Complete Legacy Challenges across several categories to earn Legacy Points — goals such as leveling a specific class or reaching a skill milestone, built around the journey you already play.
- Legacy Points are shared across all your alts, while each character spends them separately in their own trees.
- At launch each character can spend up to 16 points. You can keep completing challenges past that limit and earn up to 65 points; the extra goes toward the Legacy Reward Track.
- A single character can earn up to 29 points (3 from leveling, 6 from tradeskills, 12 from PvP, 2 from Adventure, 6 from dungeons and raids), so the 16-point cap never requires alts.
- Collections and Legacy Points are shared account-wide across rulesets (Normal, PvP, RP). Hardcore is not available at launch; once it is, challenges earned in Hardcore count in every other ruleset, but not the other way around. PvP challenges cannot be completed in Hardcore.
- None of the perks affect combat. Most are passive, with a few activated abilities such as Dedicated Study.Reported
- Spent points can be reset at a class trainer for 10 gold.Reported
REWARD TRACK
Legacy Reward Track
- Earning points over time unlocks cosmetic and prestige rewards such as the Spectral Bear Cub. They follow your total points earned, regardless of how many you spend, and give no competitive advantage.
- Four rewards at launch: Spectral Bear Cub pet, Spectral Bear Tabard, Reins of the Spectral Bear mount, and a Replica Ironforge Air Rifle that stuns other players and keeps score. New rewards come with each content update.
- Rewards unlock at 15, 25, 40 and 55 points earned, with the Reins of the Spectral Bear at 55.Reported
ROADMAP
What's coming
- New challenges, perks and ways to spend points are planned, along with higher spending caps, new options in existing trees and possibly entirely new trees.
- Hardcore will launch with 12 Hardcore-specific Legacy Challenges, with more Hardcore-specific challenges and perks to follow.
