Privacy Policy

WOWF.IO ("the site") is an unofficial fan site you can use without an account. We never ask for your name or email address, and we only process the minimum needed to run and fix the site, as described below.

1. What we process and why

  • Visit statistics (Google Analytics 4) — pages viewed, referring page, browser and device type, site language and approximate location (country, city). Used to see which pages are useful and improve the site. Google uses the IP address only to estimate location and does not store it.
  • Error reports (Sentry) — the error message, page address and browser type when something breaks. Used only to fix bugs. Configured not to send personally identifying information.
  • Tier lists — the title, author name, text and rankings you enter. To count votes and views once per person and prevent spam, we store only a one-way hash of your IP address mixed with a secret value, never the IP address itself.
  • Delivery — our servers and our security provider (Cloudflare) briefly process connection data such as your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks.
  • Email — if you write to us, we keep your address and message to reply.

2. Cookies

The site uses the cookies below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site keeps working (it just won't remember your language choice).

  • wowf_lang — remembers the language you picked. 1 year. Only set when you choose a language yourself.
  • _ga, _ga_<ID> — used by Google Analytics to tell visitors apart. Up to 2 years.
  • Visitors from the European Economic Area (EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway), the United Kingdom and Switzerland do not get Google Analytics cookies.

3. Retention and deletion

  • Visit statistics — deleted automatically by Google Analytics after 14 months.
  • Error reports — deleted automatically after Sentry's retention period (currently 30 days).
  • Tier lists — kept while the list exists and deleted with it.
  • Email — deleted once it is no longer needed.

4. Service providers and international transfers

We never sell or hand over your data. To run the site we rely on the providers below, so data is transferred to servers abroad over encrypted connections while you use the site.

  • Google LLC (United States) — visit statistics
  • Functional Software, Inc. / Sentry (United States) — error reports
  • Fly.io, Inc. (servers and database in Tokyo, Japan) — hosting and tier list storage
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (global network) — page delivery and security

5. Advertising

The site does not show ads. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

6. Your rights and how we protect data

You can ask to see, correct or delete a tier list you made or an email you sent. Write to the address below with the tier list link and we will take care of it.

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS), IP addresses are kept only as one-way hashes, and only the operator can access the database.
