Tournament overview

The first dueling tournament of the WoW: Forever beta, organized by Tips Out — who ran the Classic Duelers League and OTK's 2023 Mak'gora — and broadcast by streamers Esfand and Xaryu. It's open: anyone with beta access can register.

1v1 duels — Qualifiers → top 4 of each class in the Finals; the bracket winner is crowned "Death's Duelist"

    STEP 1

    Check beta access

    • You need WoW: Forever beta access to participate
    • Opt in on the official WoW: Forever site, or guarantee access with a Battle.net pre-purchase (Epic Pack or Forever Collection)

    Create your character

    • 1.Pick a PvP ruleset realm
    • 2.Faction: Horde
    • 3.Race — see below
    • 4.Class
    • 5.Name it and set the last name "Foreverpvp" — required
    • 6.Only characters created after Sep 27, 11am PT count

    STEP 3

    Register on Raider.IO

    • Register on the Raider.IO tournament page and enter your character information
    • Closes Oct 4, 11am PT — characters can only be created until then
    • Register each extra character as you make it; only one plays in the tournament

    Join the guild

    • Log in on that character and ask for an invite to <The Forever Open III>
    • Invites from Tips Zug, Theboggy Foreverpvp, Admin Hulatwo, Admin Magetea, Admin Musashii, Prestige Admin

    STEP 5

    What's banned

    Banned items — equipped or just in your bags means disqualification

    • Holiday buffs (e.g. the Wickerman buff) and holiday consumables (e.g. Candy corn)
    • Class buffs from other players that last under 2 minutes (e.g. no unless you are a priest)
    • Intentional delays — e.g. rogues sitting in for minutes to reset cooldowns, 60+ seconds of inactivity
    • Fleeing a duel, or force-fleeing your opponent (e.g. chain-casting on them at the rim of the duel line)
    • Leaving the dueling location (including hearthstoning to repair), more than 3 minutes of total offline time
    • Account sharing, match-fixing, stream-sniping, outside intervention, client-side abuse, hacking, exploiting

    Earn Legacy points

    • Legacy points are earned by all characters on your account — points from alts work on your tournament character
    • Each character can spend up to 16

      Reach level 25 for the first time on a Druid.

    Professions

    • Two primary professions per character — each 150 and 225 earns a Legacy point
    • At level 30 you can reach 225 (Expert)
    • First Aid and Cooking are secondary and don't take a slot

    • Take the Legacy perk first
    • Dungeon quests give big XP — dungeons below

    Stream setup

    • Twitch, YouTube or Kick
    • Stream your own view during the Qualifiers and Finals — duels and bag/talent inspections
    • Keep the VoD — without it you can forfeit all matches and prize money

    Submit your talent build

    • One build for the Qualifiers and one for the Finals (they can differ)
    • Submit at least 24 hours before each stage
    • No changes once a stage begins — your talents must match the submitted build at inspection

    Tournament day

    • 1.Check in on Raider.IO on the morning of Oct 17 — the tournament starts 17:00 UTC
    • 2.Pay the 15 gold entry fee in game
    • 3.Open bags, talents and character panel on stream for inspection
    • 4.Before a duel — eat and drink elixirs; buffs from other players only if they last 2 minutes or more
    • 5.Stand on the duel flag together, walk 10 yards straight apart and stop at 20 yards (only characters in may move)
    • 6.No mounts; accept the duel after the admin's 10-second countdown
    • 7.60 seconds of inactivity is a penalty, leaving the duel area disqualifies you, 3 minutes of total offline time max
    • 8.1–2 minutes between duels to heal, buff and drink
    • 9.Timeouts are replayed — food and water capped at 3 for the rest of that matchup
    • 10.Only warlocks may leave once, after telling an admin, to collect soul shards
