Pick the spec you'll level as. Each spec has its own talents, professions, gear and way to fight.

• MarksmanshipDamageRecommendedLv 20 · 7/4/0→Marksmanship Hunters keep the same early abilities as before, so leveling feels familiar. Auto Shot no longer has a cast time, which makes kiting before 10 easy. The Marksmanship talents are awkward while leveling, though, so keep your pet out and split points into the Beast Mastery tree until 20.
• Beast MasteryDamageLv 20 · 7/4/0→Beast Mastery Hunters fight alongside their pet and have the easiest road to 20. Auto Shot no longer has a cast time, so kiting before 10 is easy, and from 10 your pet holds the mobs. With Legacy talent points you get Summon Hawk at 20, and Aimed Shot is a baseline ability, so you are not short on tools early on.
