September 24 build changes missing from the patch notes — Crusade removed, Eureka!'s real values, potion tuning
These changes show up in the client data of the September 24 beta build (1.60.1.70009) but aren't in Blizzard's development notes, or are more specific than the notes. Talents, abilities and talent trees were compared spell by spell against the client tables of the previous build (1.60.1.69977); potion values against the data this site used from build 1.60.1.69913. Sets and pets were checked in the client cache, the build diff site foreverdiff (69977 → 70009) and Wowhead's datamining.
Paladin
- Retribution
- The Crusade talent is removed from the tree — row 4 (15 points), far right, 2 ranks. It increased all damage by 1/2%, plus another 1/2% against Demons and Undead
Priest
Power Word: Shield rank 9's tooltip now calculates its absorb the same way as the other ranks (tooltip only)
Rogue
Improved Expose Armor: the 'refund Combo Points when cast with 5' part was a display-only effect in the previous build and is now wired to an effect that actually triggers (100% chance, 0.5 sec internal cooldown). The tooltip text is unchanged
Shaman
Windfury Totem's tooltip showed its range as 0 yards; it now correctly shows 30 yards
Warlock
Create Firestone ranks 3 and 4 now show the conjured item part of their tooltip ('disappears if logged out for more than 15 minutes'). This was on the September 18 known issues list
Warrior
Sunder Armor: the notes only say threat was 'corrected on all ranks, with a small increase from Attack Power'. The client's base threat per rank changed as follows (the Attack Power part is computed server-side and isn't in the client)- Rank 1: 1 → 34
- Rank 2: 405 → 75
- Rank 3: 608 → 117
- Rank 4: 810 → 158
- Rank 5: 1013 → 206
Races
- Gnome
Eureka!: the notes only say '10% discount for every class', but the client spell makes your next 3 damaging abilities cost 10% less and deal 10% more damage. Lasts 15 sec, 2 min cooldown- Each class has its own spell (Energy, Rage, Mana). The Priest version applies to damaging and healing abilities and also raises healing by 10%
- In the previous build the discount differed by class — Warrior 40% Rage, Rogue 20% Energy, Mage and Warlock 50% Mana, Priest 15% Mana (plus 10% healing)
