Beta Realm Maintenance (October 15)
Blizzard community manager Kaivax announced Beta realm maintenance on .
We’re planning to take the WoW Forever Beta down in about 15 minutes, at .
This will be a maintenance period that includes deploying and testing a new build of the game, and that build has quite a few changes and fixes.
We’ll have a full update to the Development Notes ↗ for you when we get through the updating and the testing. See you on the other side!
Realms back up
The maintenance post gave no time for the realms to return, and the thread spent hours on when they would. Players asked for even a rough estimate, asked why maintenance runs at peak play time, and asked for a new estimate whenever downtime runs long. Others replied that previous build maintenances had taken several hours and expected the same this time, and said a beta is for testing so waiting is part of it. Some pointed out that many people had read "in 15 minutes" as "for 15 minutes."
From around , players began posting that they could log in. Some said the update was 1 to 1.5 GB, and others said that if the launcher did not pick up the update, the "check for updates" option in the gear menu next to the game would.
Blizzard game producer Zorbrix replied in the thread on .
Realms are back up from maintenance, thanks for being patient while we got this build out the door.
If you’re not on client 70425, make sure you exit the game and update via the bnet app.
Players replied thanking Zorbrix and the team.
