Beta Maintenance (October 14)

Blizzard community manager Kaivax announced Beta maintenance on Oct 14 (Wed), 7:49 AM.

We’re taking the WoW Forever Beta offline in a few minutes for maintenance. We’re going to run some internal tests, and we don’t expect it to be down for more than a couple of hours.

Beta realms should go offline at Oct 14 (Wed), 8:00 AM.

We’ll see you on the other side!

Realms coming back

In the maintenance thread, players argued over how long "a couple of hours" really is. One player asked for an exact duration, and others replied that a beta maintenance cannot be pinned to a precise time. Some asked what the internal tests were for, and others said many version updates arrive without notes and asked for more detailed notes.

Fifty minutes after the maintenance began, Kaivax replied in the thread on Oct 14 (Wed), 8:50 AM.

The Beta is coming back online imminently.

Players replied with thanks. This reply also does not say what was tested or whether anything changed in the game.

What this means for players

• From Oct 14 (Wed), 8:00 AM you cannot log in to the Beta.
• Blizzard expected it to take no more than a couple of hours (until around Oct 14 (Wed), 10:00 AM), but said earlier than that that the Beta was coming back imminently.
• This maintenance is for internal tests. The post does not mention any bug fixes or gameplay adjustments.
