Choose a spec

Pick the spec you'll level as. Each spec has its own talents, professions, gear and way to fight.

• EnhancementDamageRecommendedLv 20 · 0/11/0→Enhancement is the default choice for every shaman's early levels. Spell base damage has been cut hard, but Enhancement's strong auto attacks barely rely on spells, and Rockbiter Weapon gives free attack power. Keep upgrading your weapon and keep pulls in check, and you will level without trouble.
• ElementalDamageLv 20 · 0/0/11→Elemental is weak before level 40. Offensive spells have lower base damage, and most spell power gear comes from dungeons or professions, so pure casting struggles early. Up to 20, play a melee/caster hybrid: a strong melee weapon with a weapon imbue plus Fire Nova, and put your talents into Restoration for mana and healing instead of Elemental. Respec into Elemental around level 38–40, once Elemental Alacrity and Lava Burst are in reach.
