WoW Forever Affliction Warlock Leveling Guide

Affliction Warlocks level by putting DoTs on enemies and finishing with a wand. Wands scale with spell power, so they deal close to damage for no mana. , taken from 10 to 14, makes instant, and can tank several dotted enemies. The level 20 deals enough damage to hold threat on its own.

  • Enchanting
    Lets you make the level 5 and level 13 wands yourself. Affliction fills with the wand after its DoTs, so the wand is core damage.

    Levels 1–5

    DoTs and your first wand

    • Sell your starting gear and food to a vendor; that covers at level 1 (10 copper).
    • The deals little damage and runs out of mana quickly, so don't lean on it.
    • From level 4, open with and let your DoTs do the work.
    • At 5, buy and equip a . Wands scale with spell power and cost no mana.

    Levels 6–9

    DoT, wand, save mana

    • The level 6 scales with Spirit and returns a lot of mana, but costs a lot of health. Use it only when your health is high.
    • Once you have at 8, apply your DoTs and finish with the wand.
    • Don't clip DoTs or put them on enemies that are about to die. It wastes mana and adds drinking time.
    • can pull extra enemies, so use it carefully.

    Levels 10–12

    Voidwalker and Improved Corruption

    • At 10, do the class quest for right away. It holds threat well enough to tank several dotted enemies.
    • Put five points into from 10 to 14. At 5/5, is instant and deals 10% more damage.
    • A kill landed with the level 10 always gives a soul shard. Keep your shards for summoning and soulstones topped up this way.
    • Craft and with Tailoring. uses a pattern bought with Merchant's Favor and boosts Shadow damage only.

    Levels 13–16

    Suppression and first dungeons

    • Switch to at level 13. You make it yourself with Enchanting.
    • From 15, put points into . Four points reach the hit cap against same-level enemies, and it also lowers your threat.
    • The level 14 has no talent support before 20, so it isn't worth casting. Use the wand instead.
    • The level 14 brings back an enemy that sent the wrong way.
    • From 13 run The Hall of Thanes and Ragefire Chasm, and from 16 The Deadmines, for weapons and robes.

    Levels 17–19

    Collecting dungeon gear

    Level 20

    Pandemic and the Succubus

    • Your level 20 talent is , the strongest per point. Your crit chance is low at this level, but it still raises the critical damage of and .
