Higher minimum GPU — GTX 760, HD 6950 and older are no longer supported
Forever’s new lighting uses compute shaders that need RGBA16F UAV support, so Blizzard raised the minimum graphics card. Cards older than roughly 2012–2015 can’t run the game.
Minimum by vendor
- AMD: GCN 1st generation (2012) or newer — e.g. Radeon HD 7850 works, HD 6950 doesn’t.
- NVIDIA: Maxwell (2014) or newer — e.g. GTX 750 / 750 Ti and GTX 9xx work; GTX 760 / 770 / 780 and 8xxM laptops don’t.
- Intel: Skylake (2015) or newer — e.g. HD Graphics 530 works, HD 6000 doesn’t.
Check before launch
If your card is on the unsupported side, you’ll need a new GPU (or a newer PC) before launch on November 4 (US). Beta access doesn’t change the requirement.
