New ship routes

With no flying mounts, new ships link the continents.

  1. Stormwind Harbor ↔ Auberdine

    An early path between the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, from the new Stormwind Harbor.

  2. Menethil · Southshore · Auberdine

    Another route adding more flexibility while leveling.

  3. Tanaris ↔ Powderfuse Port

    Begins with the Steamwheedle Cartel in Tanaris and points beyond known shores toward Powderfuse Port in the Riverglades.

Travel in Forever

No flying mounts
Azeroth is traveled on foot, by ship and by flight path only.
No level scaling
Zones and monsters keep fixed levels, so the 1–60 journey keeps its shape.
Year 1 Azeroth
Begins where original World of Warcraft begins, in the early 'Year 1' period, and continues in its own timeline alongside it.

Updated classic areas

  • Valley of Trials, Shadowglen and other starting areas

    New NPCs, quests and recipes.

  • Wetlands

    New quests building on existing characters and threads, plus the new Excavation Site dungeon.

  • Desolace

    More centaur faction quests and rewards, and Shen'dralas opens through the Valley of Bones to the south.

  • Bandarion Keep (Whispering Wood, Tirisfal Glades)

    The key location for the new Forsaken Paladin experience.

  • Elwynn Forest, Darkshore, Ashenvale and more

    Scenery is refreshed — rivers through Elwynn, mist over Darkshore's water, moonlight in Ashenvale. The official page shows Ashenvale, Darkshore, Dustwallow Marsh, Felwood, Mulgore and The Barrens.
