Name Reservation Issue for Oceanic Players

Blizzard community manager Kaivax posted on the forums on about a bug affecting Oceanic players during Early Name Reservation, shortly after reservation opened in the Americas region (including Oceanic realms) on .

What this means for players

  • Only Oceanic players connecting to Australian realms are affected. Players reserving names on realms in other regions are not.
  • If you plan to have characters on an Australian Roleplay or Roleplay-PvP realm, create those characters before any on Normal or PvP realms.
  • If you create a Normal or PvP character first, the Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP rulesets are no longer available for your later characters. The post does not say how accounts already in that state will be handled.
  • Blizzard says it is working on an urgent fix. Until then, follow the order above.

Announcement

Attention Oceanic players connecting to Australian-based servers!

Due to a bug, you must create any characters on Roleplay or Roleplay-PvP rulesets before creating characters on Normal or PvP rulesets.

If you first create a character on the Normal or PvP ruleset, the Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP rulesets will no longer be available for subsequent characters.

This issue should only be present for players in the Oceanic region who are connecting to Australian servers, and we’re working on a fix for it urgently.

Thank you!
