The Scarlet Crusade began as a human order fighting the Scourge and has slid into fanaticism; this monastery in Tirisfal Glades is its stronghold. In the Graveyard wing Interrogator Vishas tortures prisoners, while Bloodmage Thalnos commands the dead in Honor's Tomb below.

Entrance The Scarlet Monastery at the eastern end of Tirisfal Glades (85.1, 31.4) — each wing has its own entrance

The shortest of the four wings and the usual first stop. Cross the undead-haunted graveyard, kill Interrogator Vishas and Bloodmage Thalnos, and you are done; one of three rares may show up along the way.

Before you go

  • The Scarlet Monastery is four wings — Graveyard, Library, Armory and Cathedral — each with its own entrance and instance. Groups usually level through them in that order.
  • The Horde quest Vorrel's Revenge comes from Vorrel Sengutz, held in Vishas's room.
  • Only one of the rares — Azshir the Sleepless, Fallen Champion or Ironspine — spawns, in one of several spots around the graveyard.
  • The Horde quest Hearts of Zeal collects the Hearts of Zeal dropped by Scarlet bosses and mobs in all four wings.

    Rare: Azshir the Sleepless, Fallen Champion or IronspineRareskippable

    One of the three spawns in one of several graveyard spots — the faint numbers on the map are the candidates. Azshir uses Call of the Grave, Terrify and Soul Siphon; the Fallen Champion uses Strike, Rend, Cleave and Execute; Ironspine uses Curse of Weakness and Poison Cloud.

    Bloodmage ThalnosBoss

    Uses Flame Spike, Fire Nova, Flame Shock and Shadow Bolt. Fire Nova burns everyone close to him, so melee should keep their health up.
